Rheumatology Associates - Research

Our practice’s physicians have published an estimated 400 research papers and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals. Founding physician, Dr. Robert Katz, has received the Master Award, the highest honor from the American College of Rheumatology, for his research efforts. He serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Clinical Rheumatology and as the Chairman of the Board of the Lupus Society of Illinois, where he remains at the forefront of rheumatology-related research.

Rheumatology Associates was a key research player in the FDA’s ground-breaking approval of Enbrel, a new biologic medication to treat rheumatoid arthritis. Subsequently, many other biologic medicines have been developed including Humira, Remicade, Cimzia, Simponi Aria, and others.

In addition to medication-related treatments, our practice is committed to research regarding non-surgical evaluations of individual joints including knees, shoulders, hips, and lower back.
